God Is Not Magic (GB) Sequel To "Miracles Vs. Magic"

Today we have another guest blogger: Laurisa Borlovan.  She is the author of "Paper Shackles" and "Reagan and the Gryphons".  Besides writing, she enjoys research.  She recently did a study on magic and I asked her if she would mind sharing her findings.  :)  So here it is!  God bless you and thank you for reading.

Magic: The Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.
It is a world of study all in itself. One cannot possibly study its depths in a lifetime. And Christians are always saying it is “bad.” Because The Bible says it's “bad”. And God said it is “bad.”

You have likely often heard that magic is neither good nor bad. It all depends on the user. It can be a viable force for good. Just like a gun in the hands of a burglar could take a life, the same gun in the hands of a cop could save a life.

The Lord expressly states in The Holy Bible His hatred for magic and sorcery and the keeping of times and enchanters and those who deal with familiar spirits. But He never exactly said...why. Perhaps it wasn't just because we aren't to question why. Perhaps it was because in time of black and white, right and wrong, the reason was simply obvious.

The Origins of Magic: The farthest we can trace it is to the greatest known sorcerer, Zoroaster of ancient Babylon. Hislops Two Babylons quotes ancient texts as saying that when Zoroaster “prayed” (to whom it was not specified) he was often witnessed to levitate by a dozen or more feet into the air. And in the religion of those ancient kingdoms, the idols people served were seen to come to life, winking, smiling, or their entire frames shaking with laughter. Ancient texts report that the people who worshiped these gods were not as impressed with these displays as the priests who served them. In fact, the people ran away in terror! Many of the old spell books are well known to contain spells that date back to the ancient Babylon of Zoroaster, Egypt, Atlantis, and other advanced kingdoms, most of whom were prehistoric. All of these kingdoms had polytheistic religions. Smaller kingdoms of the north also employed magic in line with their pagan sacrifices of children. The Druids and Celts are two peoples well known for their magic. Ireland continues to hold that magical air of those days gone by. Stone Henge, pyramids and monolithic stone temples found on literally every continent of this earth, as well as the Great Snake Mounds, ALL lie on the intersections of a grid that lines up with heavenly bodies year round) across the face of this planet. It is well known that demons move along these lines and these “high-places” as the Bible calls them, were sites pagan empires used for communication with entities (evil spirits.) These were places of magic. The Lord God warned the children of Israel that they were to avoid these high-places and be a separate people, not to worship any other god, or have anything to do with enchantments because magic is of Satan's kingdoms.

Wicca, and Christian witches ~ The pentacles are EVERYWHERE in magic. On spell books, on wands, on altars, on talismans, as a necklace pendant.... And I have often seen a cross woven into them. It is Satan's star. So why would Satan want a crucifix associated with himself? Because it is NOT a crucifix. It is the letter T, the sign of Tammuz the son of Nimrod. Nimrod and the creation of his tower were the beginning of worship outside of The Lord God Jehovah. Nimrod was only several generations from Noah and the great world wide flood. Remembering God's judgment for man's evil, Nimrod began the building of the tower of Babel as an escape from the judgment of God. Brother Branham illustrated it in one quote (and I must paraphrase): They could do all the sinning they wanted to, then run up this tower to heaven and escape any judgment God sent on the earth, then come back and continue their sin.

That must have been quite a building project they had there, especially since pyramids are already associated with eternal life and transmutation to other worlds. Nimrod, his wife, and their some Tammuz became the new gods and priests of their one world empire shortly after the flood. They started paganism, which in turn, employed magic. More can be found on this in Hislop's Two Babylons. The Egyptians also called this letter T with a handle an “Ankh.” It was their hieroglyph for “life.” The cross in the pentacles has nothing to do with the Savior's work on the cross. And even if Satan wished to borrow it, we are aware that anything with the pentacles stamped on it is clearly Anti-Christ. Wicca is a white-lie. Not white magic.

In the Ancient Past: In a lot of entertainment, you hear people harking back to the Old World or the Old Religion or Once Upon a Time when there were dragons, and dragon lords, or faeries, or tree spirits... there was magic. These stories do not hark to the medieval ages (though superstition and such tales abounded in the dark ages.) They are referring to a time more ancient. They are referring to the pre-flood world when man waxed great upon the face of the earth and their hearts were continually evil in the sight of the Lord. These were the days when men of renown, great men, giants, sons of Cain, built the sphinxes, and pyramids, and held atomic power that built these great wonders, and used atomic weapons against each other. There are quotes on this. These were the days of great magic, before the flood, when there were dragons.

Magic in all of its forms is a religion. It puts man in the center to manipulate the world at his own will. Let us compare it to the gifts of God that we have seen at work. Speaking of spell words produces effects like Speaking the Word of God. It takes a certain amount of Faith (or anti-faith to be perfectly correct.) to work a spell. Sorcerers are often shown with power emanating from their hands as servants of God also have signs in the hands.

And now, how it is different. Magic has conditions. It is temporary. Flawed. The spell ends at midnight. The curse can be broken. There is a balance. For a life to be given, another must be taken, and the balance of the world restored. Magic is only as effective as the user. Magic can fight magic, sorcerer against sorcerer. But God's word does not contradict itself, and God is no author or confusion. Most of all, Magic CAN NOT create. It can only manipulate, change, alter, mutate, warp, bend, HYBREED, what already is. God's Word holds creative power. Satan can only twist what God has set in place.

The Land of Magic: Magic is of the fourth dimension, also known as the UEM (Universal Energy Matrix) or the Macrocosm. This is the dimension along which spirits move, radio waves, cell phone signals, Internet, Television and other unseen energy forces are present. I paraphrase one sorcerer: “Sorcery is potent! One should beware that is you cast a spell, the UEM will deliver. Perhaps not precisely what you want but it will be delivered as asked for.” “Spirit-entities act on behalf of the UEM. Sorcery is about Power.” He goes on to explain how spoken words (specifically names or words of power) when spoken, create a stir in the unseen worlds all around us. The words of power create vibrations which when coupled with the mental projection of your wish help manifest your desire. He goes on to say “The Spirits listed in (this particular spell book)are not all nicey-nice and not all of them are willing participants. Many are of the infernal variety and work under the conditions of the spells which forces their attention from the unseen worlds.” In a sense, he is saying, they get very upset for being disturbed from their devilish business in the fourth dimension and being called to serve a human pawn with a spell book in hand.

I promise you, God's angels do not bend to your will. Devils or Entities as they are called in the magic world, are only compliant until they can have their way with the sorcerer. And then he is possessed. Sellers of talismans on line describe the nature of the entity trapped within the ring or the crystal (whatever the talisman is) and often they include pictures that the entity says he looks most like. They warn that he may appear to you without warning and is terribly frightening and can get very angry and might only be for experienced witches!! The pictures the entity identifies with are nothing Godly, but appear to be straight from the pits of Hell.

It should already be clear enough to see that God does not work through temporary spells. His Word is eternal. It is Life. Magic is Satan's counterfeit of God's miracles. It is Satanic power. It utilizes the fallen angels of the fourth dimension with a faith in Satan. It is Satan's religion. It is Satan's science practiced by his prophets.

God wants His children to trust in Him for all of their needs. It takes just as much faith to work a spell as it does to believe that God will work on your behalf for all of your needs. But it is a faith in an ungrounded power. Satan has handed men a copy of what they had before the fall. When Adam was a god of Eden, he could speak to a mountain and it would move. He could speak to the trees and change them. Everything was perfect, because he was under God's headship. But when he fell, Satan handed man his magic, his own word. He could speak powerful words and levitate, astral project, become invisible, change his eye color, put life into stone. Magic moves a man out from under God's headship.

Why prophets are not magicians. We see many similarities in magic and miracles, everything from the laying on of hands to the speaking in tongues to signs of blood, oil, emotion, and all sorts of displays. But a prophet of God moves and speaks under the inspiration of God. When God split the Red Sea for the children of Israel and worked miracles for Elijah and Elisha, He used a man as the instrument with which he channeled his power. When man uses magic, he is allowing himself to become the instrument, the catalyst, for a power that is NOT of God. And anything Not God is Satanic. There is no neutral ground.

One Last Statement: In the practice of magic, there are a variety of different entities, powers, and resources from which the magician may pull on. And there is often a struggle among all of these for the magician's time and attention. There is a great hierarchy of entities and levels of enlightenment that the magician deals with and transcends within the world of magic to gain greater power. BUT: the Christian calls upon One and One only, God, for all of his needs, miracles, hopes, and desires. God never asked us to pray to saints, or deceased entities, or his prophets, or even ANGELS for help and assistance. We call upon God and God alone, and God does the work, and God gets the credit. Our relationship with God is always One on One, and not juggling numerous entities who vie for access to this plane through our lives. Magic allows demons to access this plane through the magicians life.

I hope that I have effectively stated my point. I do not believe I should have to cover all the different areas that magic possesses: palm reading, fortune astrology, crystal healing, etc. I am sure you know that when God said that we are engraved on the palms of His hands, He meant it in the loveliest of ways. In fact, we are probably well represented by those two nail scars, the sign of our redemption. And while Brother Branham even said that The Bible is written in the zodiac and he had looked through a man's birth chart before discussing the man's spiritual calling, we know our future is in God's hands, not our own. And while the great city of Zion has gates and foundations of all the precious gems God created, each with its own associated star and angel, each with its own vibration, the leaves of the Tree are for the healing of the nations. Meditate on the Lord. Pray through to a higher state of existence. Let the Holy Spirit fully indwell you and possess every area of your life. Be enlightened by the revelation of Our Lord Jesus Christ alone. This is the ONLY way you will EVER get back to what God gave man before the fall.

1 Samuel 15:23 King James Version (KJV)

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
