Whether this describes your current state of singlehood or seems a bit dramatic, the key point is that everyone, at one point in their life, wonders about their special someone.
If you are like me, most of your friends are courting that special someone, engaged, married, having their first baby (second, third, fourth, etc.), and some are even having grandchildren! Love in abundance, for everyone else that is, except you. Or so it seems.
Now, some well-meaning sisters (usually the married ones or the ones still living in denial) will say at this point, "Well, you are the Bride of Jesus Christ. You don't need anyone else." While I agree that being the Bride of Jesus Christ is wonderful and nothing could ever compare to it, you want God's gift with skin on it (just like that little boy, Brother Branham spoke about, during the lightning storm). And if God has that perfect someone for you, a person to complete you... then you are not made perfect without it.
Hebrews 11:40 says, "God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."
For some, the better thing that God has for us is marriage, children, a family. It is an amazing an beautiful thing. But also like our prophet said, let's not be "so focused on what God has done and will do, but on what He is doing now."
These years of singleness will be one of the greatest gifts God will give to you. Use it wisely. I am 25, going on 26 in a couple months and I am still single with no prospect whatsoever of marriage. But you know what? That is okay. I have learned to trust God and though my heart might sometimes ache for my special someone, I know that for now, God's grace is sufficient.
So before you start your Valentine's Day Single Anonymus Club, ""Hello, I am 32 and still single..." Remember that before the foundation of the world, God knew you. He is a good Father and will not withhold any good gift from you. This might be your last single Valentine's Day, or it might be one of many. Regardless, take a deep breath and look at what God is doing in your life now.
As always, thank you for reading. Comments? I'd love to hear from you. Blessings!
P.S. Thank you for being patient with blog updates. Y'all are the best.
