Simple Testimonies Of Healing
Do I believe in Divine Healing?
Yes, I do!
No one can tell me anything different, my Lord has already proven that He is the Great Physician. There have many instances where I have felt the Healer's touch, and I was inspired recently to share these precious experiences with others, in hopes that it might encourage their faith to also claim healing. So here it is!
When I was much younger, (probably eight or nine) I had severe allergies. My eyes would water and itch, my nose would drip and bleed, my throat was raspy, and I was miserable! Both my parents had had trouble with allergies as well, so it might have been inherited. I had to have eye drops daily and take medication when the symptoms worsened. It was truly terrible.
That was when I heard a minister's testimony about how the Lord had healed him from allergies. With childlike faith, I thought, "Since the Lord gave him healing, I am sure He will give me mine." At home, I kneeled in the grass, (something I didn't normally do because I would sneeze and itch uncontrollably). There I prayed. I asked the Lord to take away my allergies and let me be able to enjoy the time I spent outside.
After my prayer, I felt confident that He would answer. My siblings came out and we played on the swings and in the sandbox. I was having so much fun, that it took me a moment before I realized that I wasn't sneezing and my nose wasn't stuffy. I was excited! The Lord had healed me and it was wonderful. :)
Years later, we moved to an area that had a higher count of pollen and dust in the air. My allergies returned. I was now a teenager, and didn't appreciate the returning symptoms anymore than I had when I was younger. I started taking medication again and eye drops. My eyes couldn't stop itching and it was making me miserable. It would rub them until they were red and swollen and still there was no relief.
It was then I remembered my prayer and recalled the healing I had experienced the first time, and figured why not a second? I rebuked the devil and claimed my healing again. Since then, I have enjoyed good health and have experienced very few symptoms. Occasionally, the devil has tried to tell my that I am not healed and has tried giving me symptoms but I refuse to accept it. It has been quite sometime, probably a few years, since I have had to take medicine or eye drops for allergy symptoms. Praise God!
Shortly after my second healing, I began to struggle with swollen lymph nodes under my arm. They were highly uncomfortable, painful, and itchy. I knew Who to turn to. If the Lord had healed me from allergies, I had every confidence that my lymph nodes would return to normal. I prayed, and it took several weeks, but the swelling went down and I haven't had any problem or occurrence of this since!
My healing experiences didn't end there. About a year or two ago, I had to have my wisdom teeth extracted. During the process, they cut a nerve in my tongue and also dislocated my jaw. The pain was far stronger than any I had experienced before. Because of the damaged nerve, my tongue was numb on one side and I couldn't taste things as well as I previously had. The dislocated jaw was even worse. It would lock up if I opened my mouth too wide (like when I brushed my teeth or flossed), and would continually click when I chewed food.
It was terrible. I was so disappointed that for a while I was slightly depressed. After about a week or two of self pity, I resolved to trust in the Lord for another healing. Gradually, the feeling and taste returned to my tongue. My jaw however, seemed no better. It was irritating to have the constant clicking and popping, and I even gave up chewing gum just so I didn't have to endure the discomfort.
I continued to pray, continued to believe, continued to wait. The devil began to tell me that perhaps the Lord was only partially going to heal me. I didn't want to believe that, and one day as I read my Bible, I came across several passages in Psalms 103:
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. (Psalms 103: 2-5)
The Lord had spoken to me as sure as He was sitting right there. Praise God, I knew it was only a matter of time. I had to just keep believing and remembering His previous acts of healing.
To date I am completely healed, I do not have the slightest clicking or popping in my jaw when I chew, and it no longer locks. My God is truly a God that heals all diseases. I realize that Jesus didn't die on the cross to just heal some of our ailments, but to heal every single one of them totally and completely. That is my God! And I am proud to be called His Daughter. Thank you Jesus, I love you!
