Deserving Grace - Senior Blogger: Sharron M.
"Do we deserve grace?"
"No."
"Is God's grace greater than our sin?"
"Yes."
"Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace?" (Romans 6:15)
"God forbid."
This Year of 2017 has been a blessed year for me. My Lord has blessed me in my walk with Him, my prayer life, financially, in my health, my relationships, and my overall life. I am constantly being reminded how good God is to me, and how He answers and supplies my every needs.
However, that doesn't mean that I have been treading flowery paths of ease either. Their has been some challenging and unique situations. I've cried tears of distress, tears of pain, and tears of desperation. To an outsider, they may wonder at the situation, and think it unimportant. Only the Lord knows how dear and close these situations are to my heart, the time I've spent agonizing in prayer.
The situations didn't immediately resolve themselves, but He has given me peace, understanding, and mercy. I must trust the result to Him, knowing that not a one is lost and that all things turn out for His glory.
Grace is free and unmerited favor. We want God's favor.
It can be difficult to show others grace, as I am daily learning. The Lord has been dealing with me in this area of my life. It is hard to show grace to an individual when they refuse to heed God's call. Yet, they remain, constantly there and expecting you to impart grace to them.
I can't say I have all the answers, I can't say that I have mastered the gift of giving grace to others. I am making an effort, but a tree does not grow overnight.
If you are struggling with extending grace, I encourage you to turn it over to God. Be patient, it is a process that cannot be rushed. It is a path that is occasionally rocky, with difficult twists and turns to maneuver. And even after you extend grace to someone, it doesn't mean that you trust them or will allow them to influence you in a negative way.
While we were yet sinners, Christ loved us.
Each of us know those who have sinned, and we can strive to show Christ's love. Only God knows whether the seeds of grace and forgiveness will bear fruit in these individual's lives.
I will close, as always my faithful readers, thank you for reading. God richly bless you.
