The Sweetest Come Back

    My little sister and I were looking through groceries and reading the different labels on various items.  Most labels were very colorful and tried to show the product in the best possible light so that you would want to buy it.  Every market knows that if you want to sell something, advertising is an important factor.

     Advertising is a funny thing.  It gives the very best account of a product but it is very rarely true.  Some people will literally say anything just to sell you a product so I am normally very skeptical of advertising.  It is interesting though, the different products that are being advertised.  The biggest goal of advertisers is to make their product appealing to you.  They use slogans such as: never worry again, finally something you can rely on, it will change your life, you will wonder how you ever got on without it, or this is what you have been waiting for!

     Then of course, in the very back of the item, in small print, you will find: product guaranteed to meet your full approval or you may return product for full money back guarantee (this is of course if you send in the  receipt and remaining product within 30 days of purchase, etc.).  If their product was all they said it was they wouldn’t need to ever reimburse anyone or list the steps to return the product.

     Anyway, my eyes caught sight of a brightly labeled box advertising tiny chocolate cake rolls with crème filling.  They looked delicious and despite knowing that I wouldn’t purchase the product I started to read the advertising on the box.  The product claimed to be the sweetest comeback ever.  The thought immediately struck me and I turned to my sister to show her the box.

    Her eyes quickly skimmed over the picture of the crème and chocolate cake rolls before they settled on the advertising.  “The sweetest come back ever?”

    I looked back at the box, “What do you think?”  I wanted to hear her thoughts, wondering if the simple caption meant anything to her.

    She shook her head, “It isn’t true.”

    “Well, what do you think will be the sweetest comeback ever?”

    My little sister looked at me and smiled.  “Jesus, when He comes for us.”

    I felt like crying, I was so happy.  I couldn’t have agreed more, Jesus coming for His Bride will be the sweetest comeback ever!  The best thing about Jesus is that we will never have to worry again, it will change our life, we will wonder how we had ever lived without Him, and His return is what we are waiting for with great anticipation!

    Jesus does exactly what He says He will do!  You will never be disappointed because He always keeps His Word.  When He comes, all will be well.  He will wipe all the tears from our eyes, He will take away all our pain, and we will experience His mercy and love forevermore.  His coming will truly be the sweetest come back ever.
