A New Year

Greetings Everyone!  It is now a new year, something looked forward too and anticipated with set goals and resolutions; carefully planned and scrutinized...  Or if you are like me, you woke up one morning and realized it was the last day of the year 2014.  Aaah!  :)  But really, I love starting a new year.  A new year has so many possibilities and all unexplored, just waiting for a hale and hearty adventurer (fanfare please). Or not...

Perhaps you've just finally gotten used to writing 2014 on your checks.  Time seems to go by so fast that it is difficult to keep pace with it.  I have found this especially true as I have gotten older.

One of the reasons I look forward to each new year, is that I am reminded of God's promise.  Second Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

As time swiftly passes, I know the time of the changing of our bodies is drawing near, and what an excited thing to look forward to! All eternity to spend with our Savior and the saints of God.  No sickness, pain, or death.  All the time in the world to praise the One who set us free.  What could be better?

Now the old year had passed and we are starting afresh in a new year.  As stated previously, this year will hold many unexplored options and opportunities.  Doubtless there will also be difficult situations and obstacles to overcome as well.  Now here is my thought on it, we can either make the choices and commit the upcoming situations to God, or we can try making our own choices and keeping our own problems to ourselves (because essentially, that is what it amounts to).

We know that the greatest battle ever fought is in the mind, so by making this commitment ahead, you can have a good grasp on the victory!  Because we do not know what the year holds, we will have to exercise our faith in trusting that God will see us through and use all things for our good.  Just because you will encounter tribulations and struggles does not mean you are being punished, it can mean that God is using these as lessons to build your character.  Remember, character is a victory (which comes after the battle).

I am looking forward to the new lessons and blessings that God will give me this year and I pray you are too!  Let us run the race with patience and claim the prize before us.  Just keep your eyes on Him, and believe.

Well, with all that said, one of the things I believe the Lord has laid on my heart is to continue blogging and encouraging my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.  I have some new members who have agreed to co-author this blog with me so that we are not all pressed for time.  There will be some new additions and changes, if you have any suggestions we'll be glad to hear from you.  Just for January, we will be working on the new updates so there might not be many new articles available, but please keep checking back.  Also, we would appreciate it if you would please, keep this project in your prayers as we strive to work at the task set before us!  We want God's will first and foremost.

Once again, thank you for journeying with us in "Articles With A Purpose", we hope you will continue to read and send us your feedback.  And as always, God bless you richly.

~Your Sister In Christ,
                           Sharron
