Jellybeans!

http://www.digi-labs.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/jellybean.jpg
Happy October!  I had a lot of fun browsing for a picture for this week's post.  At first I had pictured a jar of assorted jellybeans, but when I came across this picture I knew it would fit the message of my post better.

My family likes jellybeans: the gummy little pieces of hard sugar that comes in assorted flavors and is sure to please the taste buds.

There is one problem, and is probably experienced by every family that has a bag of these delicious candies, and the problem is:

No one likes all the flavors!

A prime example is when there is only a handful left in the bag and the remaining jellybeans consists of only two flavors.

This is when big families come in handy.  I come from a family of six, and we each have our different flavors.  My twin sister likes the green ones that taste like sour green apples.  I like the soft blue and purple ones that taste like ocean spray or grape.  My mom likes the yellow ones that taste like lemons, and my dad likes the dark red ones that are hot.  (My brother doesn't have a favorite flavor so he is the exception to this rule!)

Eating even a handful of these candies is a family affair and usually occurs on a road trip when the whole family is present.  We get our handful, pick out out favorites and then extend the remaining jellybeans to those around us.  It works nearly every time.  :)

This reminds me of the awesomeness of our God and how He created us with unique personalities.  He loves us each individually.

Parents understand this because none of their children have the same features or personalities as the other.  My sister and I are twins and almost look identical but if you get to know us, you'll find out that we both have very unique personalities.  Parents love their children anyway, each one, individually.

As human beings, we learn to embrace differences and uniqueness with a godly attitude.  Sometimes we may disagree with others, and that is okay as long as we continue to remember that they are our brother/sister too.  It reminds me of what our prophet Brother Branham said:

Even if we can disagree with a person, if we can't yet do it in a brotherly way, and then… See, if Christ is in the heart, then no matter how much you disagree with the man, you still got love for him and respect.
